Disturbing Video Shows Point Police Get Knifed in Surprise Attack

A senior officer who jumped to the help of a colleague that got attacked by a knifeman has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Valor.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown after he placed a knife to the throat of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the policemen and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver following a road collision in that location in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade both Sergeant Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a Taser.

"Policeman attacked," the officer stated over his communication device.

Officer-mounted and dashboard camera footage made public by the agency depicted Brown, who was dressed in black with a hood up, rush to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a blade extended.

He struck the officer who stumbled and dropped to the pavement, before Sergeant Ansell jumped in and struggled to restrain him to the pavement despite being continually attacked with the knife.

Police Constable Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and sought a open target, bringing the confrontation to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Can I get something on my neck now, I've been stabbed in the throat."

Sgt Ansell suffered multiple deep cuts to his neck and further injuries to his limbs and torso, while Sergeant Foster suffered cut injuries.

Officials said Sgt Foster employed his hands to stem his colleague's hemorrhaging before medical personnel arrived.

The latest honor arrives after the three officers won departmental Valor Recognitions in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional Police Federation in April 2024.

They were also awarded a Area Valor Recognition in summer 2024.

"The responses of the entire team ultimately saved themselves and resulted in no civilians suffered any injuries."

Brown was given to an psychiatric detention in spring 2024, according to officials.
