Pain for Postecoglou as Swansea Surprise Forest with Late Comeback

The Forest boss, hands rooted in pockets, was still shaking his head in disbelief as he stepped onto the field at the conclusion of the match.

The Welsh side had just pulled off an stunning comeback to advance to the Carabao Cup next stage, scoring two goals in the dying moments of stoppage time.

The Forest striker scored his maiden goals for the club to earn a comfortable half-time lead, but Postecoglou is still waiting for his initial win in charge.

Postecoglou seemed to accept responsibility for the breakdown, pointing towards himself as he headed to acknowledge the traveling supporters.

“It was a difficult evening for our fans,” Postecoglou said. “We are out of a cup competition we should have progressed in.”

Until the Slovenian substitute leveled the score in the final moments, it seemed that Postecoglou would chalk up his debut victory.

Forest were stunned when Vipotnik levelled, and staggered when the visitors' skipper, the defender, netted his second goal in spectacular fashion.

“I had Malick Yalcouyé jumping on my back,” Alan Sheehan said. “I was looking at the clock because Forest that can score from anywhere.”

The situation seemed dire for the second-tier team when, down by two first-half goals, Postecoglou introduced impact players.

However, the defender reduced the deficit eight minutes later, converting a set-piece.

The Swansea goalkeeper made a crucial save to deny Callum Hudson-Odoi, but the hosts failed to capitalize to wrap up the win.

“We are going to have to earn everything,” the manager stated. “We must fight for every success.”
